Apiro, our village

The medieval historic centre of Apiro holds authentic treasures: the Teatro Mestica with its nineteenth-century elegance, the ancient walls embracing the village, and the Abbey of Sant’Urbano, a Romanesque masterpiece from the year 1000 nestled in the countryside.

Cingoli, the “Balcony of Le Marche”, offers endless panoramas among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy. Elcito, the “Tibet of Le Marche”, stands at 821 metres with breathtaking views. Recanati, birthplace of Leopardi, with the poet’s house and the Hill of the Infinite. Loreto and its Basilica of the Holy House, a destination for pilgrims from around the world.

The Tempio del Valadier, a neoclassical gem set within a natural cave near the Frasassi Caves. Urbino, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and cradle of the Renaissance, birthplace of Raphael and home to the majestic Ducal Palace. The Castle of Gradara, a symbol of history and romance, the setting of the legend of Paolo and Francesca.

Wild nature

Monte San Vicino at 1,479 metres, the “mountain with two faces” dominating the valley. Lake Cingoli, a perfect stretch of water for water sports and walks. The Frasassi Caves, among the most spectacular karst complexes in Europe, with remarkable underground routes crossing natural environments of extraordinary beauty. Le Lame Rosse, formations of red earth resembling American canyons in the Sibillini Mountains Park. The Lakes of Pilato, the only glacial lakes in Le Marche and habitat of the rare Chirocephalus marchesoni. The Furlo Gorge, a spectacular canyon with an ancient Roman tunnel and golden eagles soaring overhead.

Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, a wine of excellence, and Lacrima di Morro d’Alba with its unmistakable aroma. Ciauscolo, a spreadable IGP salami made from ancient recipes. Vincisgrassi, the traditional Marche-style lasagne. Truffle from Acqualagna, which takes its name from the celebrated truffle capital of Italy, prized by chefs and food lovers worldwide. Extra virgin olive oil from our hills, sheep and goat cheeses from local farms.

Frasassi Caves

Underground wonders just 30 kilometres away: in the municipality of Genga, a complex of cavities awaits with spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. Discovered in 1971, these caves are among the most fascinating in Europe, with breathtaking chambers such as the renowned “Sala delle Candeline” and the “Abisso Ancona”, one of the largest visitable underground chambers in Europe. A journey into the heart of the Earth that perfectly completes your water park experience.
